Terms of Service
Effective June 14, 2026
The short version
beetle is a tool that finds Reddit threads and drafts replies for you. You decide what to post. You are responsible for what you post. Don't spam, don't pretend to be someone you're not, follow Reddit's rules, and don't use beetle to do anything illegal. That's most of it.
1. What beetle is
beetle is a software service that helps you find Reddit threads relevant to your product or business, drafts reply suggestions using AI, and optionally submits those replies to Reddit through our Chrome extension using your own logged-in browser session. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use beetle. By signing up you confirm that you are 18 or older, that the information you give us is accurate, and that you have the authority to bind any company or workspace you sign up on behalf of.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your beetle account credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. If you notice unauthorized activity, email kartikay@trybeetle.com right away.
4. Reddit, and what you post
beetle helps you draft replies; you choose whether to post them. Every submission requires your explicit two-tap confirmation in the beetle web app. beetle is a tool, not a publisher.
- You own what you post. Any reply you submit via beetle is your speech, posted from your Reddit account. Treat every draft as if you wrote it yourself, because as far as Reddit and the recipient are concerned, you did.
- Follow Reddit's rules. You must comply with Reddit's User Agreement, Content Policy, and the rules of each subreddit you post in. beetle doesn't override Reddit's rules.
- Disclose affiliation. If you're recommending your own product, say so. beetle's drafter bakes in a disclosure pattern, but the responsibility to disclose is yours.
- No spam, no manipulation. Do not use beetle to mass-post identical content, vote-manipulate, run sockpuppets, or otherwise game Reddit's systems. beetle's rate limits exist to keep you inside Reddit's tolerance, but you must use the tool with judgment.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use beetle to harass, threaten, defame, or post hate speech.
- Impersonate another person or business.
- Promote anything illegal, including unregulated medical, financial, or legal claims.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract proprietary parts of beetle (LLM prompts, scoring logic, etc.) for resale or to build a competing product.
- Use beetle on behalf of a Reddit account you do not control.
- Share your beetle account with other people (a workspace can have multiple seats if needed — email us).
We may suspend or terminate your account if you do any of the above.
6. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of everything you give beetle (brand materials, edits to drafts, comments on threads). You grant beetle a non-exclusive license to use that content solely to operate the product on your behalf.
beetle's code, design, prompts, agent architecture, and scoring logic remain ours. The fact that we can read your data to provide the service does not give us any other rights to it.
7. Beta software
beetle is in pilot. Features will change. Things will sometimes break. We'll fix them as fast as we can. By using the product in this phase you accept that some volatility is part of the deal.
8. Pricing
beetle is free during the pilot. If we introduce paid plans later, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and offer the option to export your data or close your account before any charges begin.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if continued operation would create legal risk for us or other users. If we terminate without cause, we'll give you 30 days' notice and a way to export your data.
10. Disclaimers
beetle is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that the LLM-drafted replies will always pass Reddit's moderation, drive traffic, or convert. We don't guarantee uptime. We don't guarantee that Reddit's policies or endpoints will stay the same. We exclude all warranties to the fullest extent the law allows.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, beetle is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service — including, for clarity, account suspensions, shadowbans, lost karma, or business losses tied to anything you posted via beetle. Our total liability for any direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 USD, whichever is greater — and during free pilot, $100 USD).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify beetle against any claim from a third party (including Reddit, a subreddit moderator team, or another user) that arises from content you posted via beetle or from your violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll post the new effective date here and, for material changes, email you in advance. Continued use of beetle after the change takes effect counts as acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved by email will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
